Phil Jones is relishing the prospect of challenging for trophies after Manchester United's glut of summer signings.
Louis van Gaal has already strengthened his squad by making five signings so far and it appears United are preparing to bring in more additions with the new season just a week away.
United have already spent £80m this summer by bringing in Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin and Sergio Romero, and Jones believes they will help United in their pursuit of the title.
"They're all top players," said Jones, speaking at the launch of the club's newadidas kit in Manchester. "That's why the manager has signed them. They've all got their own attributes.
"Memphis is a skilful player who can change a game and score goals. Schweinsteiger has got class, he's won the World Cup, he's won everything in the game and he's got experience and that's massive, especially at Manchester United.
"Darmian is a terrific right-back, he's quick and he's sharp and we've seen that in pre-season. Morgan as well had a terrific season with Southampton and he'll be a great addition to the squad, definitely.
And Jones is hopeful of not only challenging for the title, but expects the new signings to help bolster their chances of making progress in Europe.
He added: "Hopefully we can progress in the Champions League and make it to the group stages. It will be a tough game home and away but we're more than capable of doing it and having a good season. Hopefully we'll win some trophies."
Meanwhile, versatile Dutch international Daley Blind, who signed for the club last season, says United are in confident mood ahead of their first game of the season, at home to Tottenham next Saturday.
"We are very confident," he said. "I think we have a great squad and we played some good games in pre-season.
"I think if you look at the new players who joined us this season, they will add quality on the pitch. I think a club like Manchester United always has to play for prizes on the pitch."
